Head of Learning Support - Middle School St Johns Grammar School is a dynamic E12 co-educational, independent Anglican school nestled in the beautiful hills of Belair, South Australia. Our school is structured into four sub-schools: Early Learning Centre (3 and 4 Year Old Programs), Junior School (R6), Middle School (Years 79), and Senior School (Years 1012). The OpportunityWe are seeking a passionate and experienced educator to join our Exceptional Learning team as the Head of Learning Support Middle School. Reporting to the Deputy Principal and working closely with the Head of Learning Support Senior School and Coordinator of Exceptional Learning - Junior School, this pivotal role ensures that the learning needs of students in Years 79 are identified, supported, and monitored through tailored individual support plans. You will work closely with students, families and staff as students transition from Junior School through to Senior School. Key Responsibilities Lead the transition and integration of students with learning difficulties from Junior School to Middle School Identify students requiring learning support and develop Individual Support Plans (ISPs) Coordinate the LIFT Plus program and support staff in implementing consistent strategies Provide strategic direction for inclusive education and best practices Support staff in curriculum adjustments and pedagogical modifications Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records to support NCCD reporting Collaborate with parents/caregivers to support student learning and transitions Teach students requiring learning support and contribute to their academic growth About You You are a compassionate and strategic educator with a deep understanding of inclusive education and a commitment to student wellbeing. You bring strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to support students, staff, and families. Qualifications & Experience Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education and/or Special Education Experience in learning support and inclusive education, preferably in a secondary school setting Knowledge of SACE curriculum and Special Provisions Strong interpersonal and organisational skills Please note that this role will start in Term 1, 2026.
