Our Values Authentic Communication Improvement Is Possible About the role The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, local laws, and council policies within the municipality. This position plays a critical role in promoting community safety, amenity, and compliance through education, monitoring, and enforcement activities. Reporting to the Coordinator Compliance, the purpose of this position is to ensure a high level of compliance services are provided to the community. The incumbent is responsible for supporting a broad range of compliance functions including, but not limited to animal management, local laws, parking control and school crossing supervision. The Compliance Officer sits within the Statutory Services / Compliance stream and works closely with other teams, including Statutory Planning, Building Services, Environmental Health, Project Services and Asset Management, Governance, and Customer Service. The role upholds Council values, the Victorian Public Sector Code of Conduct, and operates within the Council''s delegations, authorisations, and prosecution guidelines.
