About The Role This 0.6 EFT role will be part of RCH Mental Health team based in the Brimbank Melton Childrens Local and provide clinical care to infants and children with suspected neurodevelopmental and mental health disorders. What Youll Achieve Direct Clinical Delivery Provide assessment and clinical intervention to infants and children and their families, both face to face and via telehealth. Supervise other clinicians to provide assessment and clinical interventions. Provide support to RCH Mental Health community teams to ensure high quality care alongside community team consultant psychiatrists and paediatricians. Participate prorate in the RCH Mental Health afterhours oncall roster for psychiatrists. Service Leadership and Development Provide leadership through modelling a high standard of professional and interpersonal skills, attitudes and behaviours. Collaborate effectively with community consultant psychiatrists, RCHbased infant psychiatrist and team, and other clinical and service leaders to ensure interdisciplinary clinical care is of consistently high standard. Contribute expert clinical decisionmaking to policy and procedure development to improve care delivered in the Local. Participate in bimonthly supervision with the Director for tracking work plans for the year, and managing competing demands for clinical, service and training activities. Participate in the RCH annual performance appraisal process (PDAP). Advocate for a service culture of evidencebased and outcomesdriven practice, continual learning and improvement. Essential Skills and Experience Specialist Medical Practitioner registration with AHPRA. Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification. Experience working in the mental health sector and sound knowledge of the relevant legislation pertaining to Mental Health. Excellent clinical skills and a commitment to professional development. Proven ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team including senior medical, junior medical, nursing and allied health staff. Desirable Accreditation as an RANZCP Supervisor. Completion of accredited postgraduate training in child and adolescent psychiatry. Experience in inpatient MH including assessment and management of young people with eating disorders. Interest in teaching and research with publications in refereed journals in the field of mental health. This includes an Intake and Assessment Team based at Parkville, three multidisciplinary communitybased teams located at Travancore, St Albans and Hoppers Crossing, the Banksia Ward (adolescent mental health inpatient unit), Hospital ConsultationLiaison mental health team, Child and Youth HOPE team, ED mental health team. Each team is led by a partnership between a Team Coordinator/s and a Consultant Psychiatrist.
