About the area The University of Western Australia is a researchintensive institution that supports influential research and the training of students and staff. Its research and development infrastructure is key, and the CMCA (Microscopy Characterisation and Analysis Core Facility) is a worldclass facility that provides users with a concepttopublication pathway and excellence in training, measurement and analysis. The centre comprises 30 academic, research, technical and administrative staff and supports an exceptionally diverse range of instrument platforms including electron microscopy, scanning probe microscopy, Xray microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, cytometry and optical microscopy. It operates on three main sites and supports research across engineering, science and health. Responsibilities Deliver support in optical microscopy for staff, students and external stakeholders. Provide training and advice across all aspects of advanced microscopy workflows from sample preparation to data analysis. Contribute to broader activities within the optical and multimodal microscopy capability. Qualifications Relevant tertiary education or demonstrated equivalent competency. Excellent knowledge of optical microscopy workflows and their research applications. Excellent knowledge and technical experience in optical microscopy sample preparation, especially confocal microscopy for biological applications. Demonstrated experience in the collection, management, processing and analysis of optical microscopy datasets, particularly confocal microscopy for biological applications. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant policies and procedures for the administration of infrastructure and Occupational Health & Safety.
