About the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. This is a permanent, full-time position offering strong long-term employment potential at a long-life mine (10+ years).You will report to the Engineering Superintendent and work on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Perth or Geraldton with approximately 1hour travel time to site.In this leadership-focused role, you will apply strong technical engineering and project management expertise to plan, design, and execute projects that support operational growth and asset longevity.Key ResponsibilitiesDriving the endtoend delivery of capital and sustaining project programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, safety standards, and regulatory complianceProviding mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering leadership across design, construction, commissioning, handover, and asset integrationChampioning technical governance, including leading design reviews, HAZOPs, and risk assessments to ensure safe and costeffective project outcomesLeading project scoping, business case development, cost estimation, scheduling, forecasting, resource planning, and project justification within financial governance frameworksManaging consultants, contractors, and suppliers to achieve safe, highquality, and efficient project executionMentoring and developing engineering talent, enhancing documentation control, and driving continuous improvement to foster a culture of technical excellence and team performanceSupervising highrisk work activities and ensuring compliance with site and industry safety requirementsAbout YouThe ideal candidate will have deep technical engineering knowledge paired with strong project management capabilities to deliver sustainable asset and operational improvements.Key Qualifications and ExperienceA tertiary qualification in Mechanical EngineeringProven project management experience, ideally in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrySupervisory experience overseeing highrisk work activitiesExperience in underground or opencut mining operationsExperience working across mineral processing plants or heavy industry environmentsStrong contractor and stakeholder management experienceDemonstrable leadership skills with a focus on safety, reliability, and asset life optimisationAbout 29Metals and Golden Grove29Metals is an ASXlisted mining company that produces copper and other base and precious metals critical to the global energy transition.
