Were seeking a National Pre-Construction Manager to lead the front end of major projects, shaping strategy, guiding estimating, and setting the commercial foundation long before works begin. In this pivotal role, youll combine estimating expertise, commercial acumen, and strategic foresight to secure new work and position every project for success. As a key link between clients, estimators, and delivery teams, youll play a critical role in refining methodologies, driving value for clients, and strengthening profitability across the business. What Youll Do Lead estimating and tender development for major steel, commercial, and industrial projects. Review detailed cost estimates, analyse drawings and specifications, and identify value-engineering opportunities, including alternative material options where appropriate. Guide and support a team of local and remote estimators, ensuring consistent, accurate, and efficient estimating processes. Collaborate with Estimating, Engineering, and Project Management teams to refine pricing, scope, methodology, and constructability. Oversee bid and tender strategies that align with business goals and commercial targets. Identify and pursue new opportunities to maintain a strong and balanced national pipeline. Review contracts to assess commercial terms, risk allocation, and compliance before execution. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market signals that influence project feasibility and tender positioning. You bring estimating expertise and commercial insight to every decision, with the drive to lead from the front and deliver excellence through the entire preconstruction lifecycle. Youll bring: Proven experience in estimating within the structural steel or commercial construction sector. Strong understanding of preconstruction, tendering, and commercial risk management. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Strategic thinking paired with a practical, solutionsfocused mindset.
