About the Team The Records Advisor is located within the Governance Support Unit (GSU). GSU is responsible for committee services to Council and Academic Board, rules, delegations, policy and other governance instruments, elections, records management services, privacy, right to information, official publications, student complaints, and student misconduct, as well as legislative compliance and a number of special governance projects. This position sits within University Records (referred to as Corporate Information Team, see attached organisational chart). University Records consists of a small team of professional records and information management staff providing records, information management, and archives advice and support services to all faculties and units across UTS. About the Role This role is a full time fixed term backfill position for approximately 5 months. The Records Advisor participates in, and supports projects and activities with the University Records team, including its outreach and advocacy services across UTS, in relation to records and information management practices, data and privacy management, archive support, and GIPA compliance. If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for: Assisting in delivering records training and advisory services to support compliant recordkeeping across faculties and units. Conducting complex searches and manage retrieval, return and secure access to physical and digital records. Processing and maintaining records and datasets, including data quality checks and accurate import into TRIM. Providing records and information management advice to resolve issues and support system implementations. Monitoring recordkeeping practices and physical records to ensure data quality, security and compliance. Supporting University Records operations, projects, vital records, archives and GIPA obligations. Additional support for processing access applications may be required. Key Selection Criteria Ability to appropriately and efficiently manage the creation, accessibility, access, storage, security, retention, preservation and destruction of records and information in line with policies, and to support others to do the same. Ability to apply data analysis and quality assurance techniques, including to assess, clean and correct data quality defects using relevant tools. Can analyse and map business processes and information management functionality in information systems to identify inefficiencies relating to records and information management. Proven ability to prioritise work and manage time and workload, and the ability to work un-supervised as required as part of a project team. Recordkeeping obligations under the State Records Act NSW 1998 and its associated standards and guidelines and privacy and right to information obligations under various legislation. Base Salary Range Base Salary Range: $83,906 - $95,989 pa (HEW 5) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
