Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical/dental practitioners for the above position in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Nepean Hospital within the Department of Anaesthesia & Pain Management. Successful applicants will be committed, caring physicians with excellent communication and team working skills with the capacity to contribute to an interdisciplinary team in order to provide innovative highquality care. They may be offered a conjoint university appointment within the Faculty of Medicine at the relevant University attached to each facility, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Eligibility & Selection Criteria Registered with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible. Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine and/or equivalent specialist recognition; evidence of continuing medical education and selfmonitoring/audit practices consistent with scope of practice. Exceptional clinical knowledge in Pain Medicine demonstrated by successful practice and participation in quality assurance activities, including interventional pain therapies. High level interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards. Professional behaviour modelling appropriate for a Senior Medical Practitioner. Familiarity with research concepts; commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research within the department is desirable. Conditions Conditions of appointment follow the Health Services Act 1997 and Staff Specialists (State) Award. Employees and Contractors must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Childrens Guardian. Successful applicants must obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment.
