OverviewOpal Bag Solutions operates across Australia to provide tailored high performance paper bag and other paper-based packaging solutions. We have an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest packaging companies in Australia as our Thomastown site is looking for 2 experienced mechanical fitters to come onboard (on afternoon shift from 3pm until 11pm). Competitive pay and enormous opportunities for training and development are offered.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support to the Maintenance and Production teamsPerform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime, incl. contribution to routine planned shutdownsMaintaining equipment condition and reliability so that company safety, production and quality targets can be achievedEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and codesAssist with breakdowns and conducting troubleshooting analysis as requiredReading and understanding of mechanical and engineering drawingsSolid knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systemsExposure and/or experience with automated production environment, including automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) and roboticsContribute ideas for continuous improvement and assist in the development of job procedures as required (which includes improvement projects)What we offerWe can offer a varied career journey with experiential learning gained from cross-functional and lateral moves.
