Key Responsibilities: Prepare and present highquality dishes in line with our menu. Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales. Work under the instruction of the head chef, supervising junior staff and assisting as needed. Slightly modify recipes to meet customers needs and requests (e.g., reduce salt, remove dairy). Monitor stock levels and order accordingly to ensure cost effectiveness. Monitor food preservation and rotation to ensure minimal wastage. Operate within the guidelines set by the state for food handling and comply with health and safety regulations within the kitchen area. Discuss food preparation issues with the team and ensure the quality and cleanliness of all food displays. Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients. Qualifications and Attributes: Experience working in the same cuisine for more than 1 year. Positive attitude, strong communication skills and motivated work ethic. Ability to understand and comply with internal food policies and procedures, consistently meeting expected food quality standards. Understanding of best practices in food handling requirements. Necessary certificates and qualifications, including CertIV in Commercial Cookery or higher. What We Offer: Longterm employment. Good salary between AUD$75,000 $80,000 per year and superannuation.
