Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description Our valued client L and V Engineering based in Walkerston QLD is seeking highly skilled and experienced Machinist to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. The role includes but is not limited to: Conduct routine and preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and longevity. Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications to understand the requirements for the metal component to be machined. Prepares and configures machine tools for specific jobs and ensures correct fixtures, settings and tools are applied. Diagnose equipment malfunctions, perform repairs, and execute corrective maintenance to prevent operational disruptions. Forms metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal. Carry out inspections to identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems efficiently. Collaborate with the team to implement improvement strategies for equipment reliability and performance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements and inspections. Comply with safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment. Recondition worn or damaged parts to restore them to safe working condition. Undertake measuring, marking, machining, fitting, and finishing tasks to achieve required dimension accuracy and surface finishes. Check fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance, and fit using precision measuring instruments. Work collaboratively with Engineers and Fitters to troubleshoot mechanical issues and design appropriate machining solutions. Assist Fitters, Electricians, and Engineers during breakdowns and ride overhauls by producing replacement parts quickly and accurately. Participate in major refurbishments, upgrades, shutdowns, and commissioning projects requiring custom machining or metalwork. Support rootcause investigations by assessing wear, fatigue, corrosion, misalignment, and structural issues in metal components. To be considered for this role, you must have: Trade Qualifications and with more than 5 years of relevant experience. Excellent level of experience in machine operation including profile cutting and drilling. Knowledge and ability to read and follow engineering drawings and diagrammed instructions. Knowledge in operating grinders, lathes and milling machines. Strong problemsolving skills to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the manufacturing process. Values precision and enforces quality standards. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to work productively, largely unsupervised. Knowledge and expertise with various steel and metals. Reliable, selfmotivated with a great work ethic. A selfstarter, with an ability to take direction. Understanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents. Salary: $104,000 per annum #J-18808-Ljbffr
