In this important role, working as Gardener/Maintenance Officer, reporting to the Resort Manager, you will primarily provide gardening support, but also some cleaning/and or general handyperson work at the Community Hall and swimming pool area, for this Retirement Village. Most duties will be performed as part of a team but some cleaning or general handyman work may be as an individual task. A friendly sociable personality coupled with empathy and compassion for the elderly will make you a perfect fit for this role.Some responsibilities may include but not be limited to:Regular communal areas checking to ensure clean, tidy and well-maintainedMaintenance (servicing and/or cleaning) of up-to-date inventory of all equipment including adhering to preventative maintenance program of all equipmentHorticultural and ground development, maintenance and monitoringRe-planting of garden beds and maintenanceTree and shrub pruningHedge trimmingMowing of lawns, edging, fertilizing and weedingClearing and removal of garden refusePaths, drains and edge maintenance and repair when neededFences and retaining walls maintenanceUndertaking of any necessary routine repair work and maintenance.What will you bring to the role?Horticultural or gardening knowledge and experience, and an eye for detailExperience in using a range of gardening equipmentPrevious experience and knowledge in general and commercial maintenance and/or cleaningDemonstrated problem solving and a can do attitudeAbility to communicate in a polite, professional manner with residentsAbility to work as part of a team but also be capable of working autonomously. #J-18808-Ljbffr
