Newgate Operations Pty Ltd is currently seeking a highly experienced and capable staff member to join our team. We are looking for a motivated, determined, and experienced individual with horse stud experience. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry best practice, with significant experience in the industry. Horse Trainer/Breeding - Yearlings and Foaling Able to train and prepare horses for breeding and selling purposes. Able to assist with the early education, maintenance, and improvement of the behaviour and fitness of the horses and manage the care of horses, as well as sick and injured horses under Veterinary supervision. Able to educate yearlings and other young stock, foaling mares, assist Veterinarian with ultrasound/reproduction examinations and provide the appropriate health care as well as re-educating horses as required. All applicants must have a minimum of at least 3 years full time professional experience in the role. Proven knowledge and experience of horse handling and training methods specific to thoroughbred breeding. Ability to train and educate thoroughbred horses. Proven ability to foal mares, including night foaling. Proven ability to prepare yearlings for sale. Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and prepare basic reports. Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and breeding of horses. A relevant Australian or International qualification. Terms of Employment This is a full-time position, with a minimum commitment of at least 3 years. The salary will be above award in the range of $75,000 to $80,000 per annum plus superannuation. On farm accommodation may also be provided. #J-18808-Ljbffr
