Local Community Welfare Support Volunteers and Members St Vincent de Paul gives a hand up by reaching out and providing immediate help, short term financial assistance and an empathetic ear to those who have fallen on hard times. Being part of our specially trained Volunteer Member Conference groups, you will be at the frontline of our service where you can make a genuine difference in peoples lives. If you are someone that is genuinely caring, compassionate and empathetic, and want to make a positive impact on your community, a Volunteer Conference Member role could be for you. We have positions right across the Riverina including Jerilderie, Finley and Tocumwal. The role of a Volunteer Conference Member includes: Meeting with vulnerable community members Completing assessments to determine the individuals needs Collaborating with other Volunteer Members to determine the assistance to be provided to the individual Providing the time to listen to those in need and offer respect, support and companionship in their journey Making 3rd party referrals to other professional services No previous experience is needed for these volunteer roles, however the main requirement is that your values align with those of St Vincent de Paul; Commitment, Compassion, Respect, Integrity, Empathy, Advocacy and Courage.
