Based at the Glenside Health Campus, this two-year development program provides a solid foundation for nurses beginning their mental health practice, equipping you with the clinical, educational, and operational tools to thrive. About the Role As a Graduate Mental Health Nurse, you will deliver direct, comprehensive and recovery-focused nursing care to a designated group of consumers. Under the support and supervision of an experienced preceptor, you will: - Provide high-quality mental health care across inpatient and/or community settings - Engage in education, counselling and group work as essential elements of consumer recovery - Accept accountability for your own nursing practice and delegation to others - Work within the framework of the National Mental Health Policy, National Standards and SA Health values This program is designed to help you build confidence and competence as a beginning practitioner, so you can progress toward a meaningful, rewarding career in mental health nursing. Program Structure & Rotations Your two-year structured development program includes: - Allocated study days - Access to experienced clinical facilitators - Workplace support from the Nurse Portfolio Lead, including assistance with university requirements, placement negotiations and assessments - Up to two clinical rotations, which may include: - Inpatient Acute Care - Community Mental Health Services The Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network offers opportunities across our sites, from Kangaroo Island to Eudunda, wrapping all the way around our metropolitan areas (position based in Glenside).
