An Australian R&D and manufacturing company developing advanced defence and industrial systems is expanding its team and hiring a CNC Machinist / Programmer to support the production of highprecision components as they move into fullscale manufacturing. The role is fulltime, onsite in Adelaide, SA, working an afternoon shift (12:00 PM 8:00 PM) with shift loading added to the base salary. Key Responsibilities - Program, set up, and operate multiaxis CNC milling machines. - Read and interpret CAD/CAM models and engineering drawings. - Select tooling, speeds, and feeds appropriate for defencegrade materials. - Carry out firstoff inspections and ensure parts meet quality requirements. - Perform adjustments and minor maintenance to optimise machine performance. - Work collaboratively with engineers and assembly teams to resolve manufacturing issues. - Maintain accurate documentation and follow company quality processes. Requirements - Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with strong programming ability. - Background in defence, or other precision manufacturing industries desirable. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD/CAM data. - Familiarity with multiaxis CNC milling machines. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. - Must be an Australian citizen. Desirable but not essential - Experience with defencegrade materials such as aluminium, titanium, or stainless steel. - Exposure to ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality environments. - Mechanical trade qualifications or equivalent.
