Asset Technical Officer Parks and Gardens Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Asset Technical Officer to drive the planning and improvement of our Parks & Gardens asset portfolio. This key role supports both operational and capital planning by providing accurate, datadriven insights into asset condition, performance, lifecycle and renewal needs. Your opportunity: Reporting to the Parks & Gardens Manager, this position is responsible for leading asset data management, condition assessment programs, capital works planning and strategic documentation across the Parks & Gardens network. You will work closely with operational teams, capital project managers, finance, GIS and external stakeholders to ensure asset information is accurate, integrated and fit for purpose. Our offer to you: Work life balance with a 9 day fortnight Save more with our salary sacrifice scheme Health and Wellbeing Benefits Key Responsibilities: Lead the development, integration and maintenance of Parks & Gardens asset data, including in-field inspections and stakeholder liaison Manage and improve Councils Asset Management System for all open space assets Develop and maintain rolling asset condition assessment and revaluation programs Analyse asset performance and prepare renewal and capital works programs based on risk, condition, criticality and community value Lead capital works planning, prioritisation, scoping and predesign cost estimates within budget constraints Support the development, review and implementation of the Parks & Gardens Asset Management Plan, Technical Levels of Service and Operational Plans Coordinate asset data capture, spatial mapping and capitalisation of projects in collaboration with Finance and GIS teams Identify and prepare grant funding applications to support future asset renewal and strategic initiatives Manage consultants and contractors for specialised maintenance, compliance inspections and reporting Conduct asset inspections, compliance audits and handover processes for completed capital projects Your skills and experience: C Class Drivers Licence. IPWEA Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning or similar with relevant work experience within a Civil Infrastructure capacity or a minimum 5 years experience in developing technical documentation associated with open space related projects and asset management. Technical knowledge and understanding of Parks & Gardens Infrastructure, including Playgrounds, Park furniture, Cemeteries, Structures, Services/Utilities, Footpaths, Green Assets, including familiarity with Australian Standards and specifications for design and construction of these assets. A technical understanding of Parks & Gardens, including Playgrounds, Park furniture, Cemeteries, Structures, Services/Utilities, Footpaths, Green Assets, to optimise the performance of the asset, taking into consideration life cycle costs, environmental factors, and improvements for the infrastructure users. Ability to determine condition states for a wide array of Parks & Gardens assets and related knowledge of assessment and investigation methods/technologies for evaluating asset condition.
