St Ritas College invites applications for a fulltime Guidance Counsellor to join our dedicated Student Wellbeing team for the duration of the 2026 school year. This position commences on 19 January 2026. About the Role The Guidance Counsellor plays a vital role in supporting the social, emotional and academic wellbeing of students at St Rita''s College. Working collaboratively with leaders, teachers, parents and specialist staff, the Guidance Counsellor provides counselling support, contributes to wellbeing initiatives and assists in developing strategies that foster student resilience, safety and positive mental health. Key duties and responsibilities Providing shortterm counselling and wellbeing support to students Conducting assessments and contributing to individual support plans Advising staff on student wellbeing needs and effective interventions Liaising with parents/carers and external professionals where appropriate Supporting wholeschool wellbeing programmes and initiatives Maintaining accurate, confidential records in line with College and legislative requirements Participating in case management meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary approaches Upholding the mission, ethos and Presentation values of St Ritas College About you Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling or a related discipline Registration with AHPRA (Psychologist) or appropriate professional association Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational, clinical or community setting Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with students and families Highlevel communication, organisation and confidentiality What we Offer Competitive remuneration Staff training and development opportunities Regular social events & celebrations An inspiring and cohesive work environment Job requirements All staff are required to hold a current Working With Children Check (blue card) or current Queensland Teachers registration before commencing at the College.
