About the Role We currently offer an exciting opportunity for a Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager to join our professional team on a fulltime basis. In this role you will manage preadmissions, 2 operating theatres, 1 endoscopy procedure room, PACU and recovery, CSD and stores, and review and implement policies and processes to support continuous quality improvement in line with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS). Responsibilities Daytoday management of staff. Managing theatre lists. Communicating directly with surgeons, anaesthetists and their rooms. Planning, implementing and evaluating practices. Participating in the hospital accreditation process. Managing theatre stores inventory, stock takes and ordering systems. Orientation/education of new staff members. Staff rostering and daily allocations. Actively participating in the oncall sick leave phone roster. Providing handson nursing, meal relief and sick leave cover. Being flexible to work Saturday on the floor if required. Skills and Experience Unrestricted working rights in Australia. Unconditional registration with AHPRA. Previous or current clinical practice within the perioperative environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage resources and implement sustainable change. Demonstrated ability to review, implement and evaluate Quality Improvement programmes. Condition of employment evidence of vaccination against Preventable Diseases prior to employment (Hepatitis B, MMR, Pertussis and Varicella). Desirable Skills and Experience Recent experience in a management or actingmanagement position or equivalent.
