Opal Fibre Packaging Australia provides a full service offering in corrugated cardboard box packaging from design and product testing through to supply chain integration. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team, initially at our depot in Gayndah, QLD. The key focus of this role will be to: Act as a field technician that primarily supports the operations of the Gayndah depot Set and prioritise work: ensure parts are available and labour is fully utilised (including overseeing casuals onsite) Monitor downtime/uptime to improve depot effectiveness and efficiencies Preventive and corrective maintenance: scheduling, executing, and documenting maintenance tasks to minimise downtime Provide support to customer sites and other Opal sites with auditing and servicing when required Lead and coordinate the onsite team to ensure customer orders are produced and delivered to specification Resolve disputes and foster positive working relationships with casual labour to maintain a productive environment Build and sustain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support ongoing operations We can offer a varied career journey with experiential learning gained from cross-functional and lateral moves. For this role we would ideally like you to have: Mechanical aptitude and experience within production environments will be essential A trade qualification would be highly regarded/ advantageous, but is not a requirement The ability to work autonomously/ independently Experience within production environments, maintaining equipment Prior experience with Machine set-up/ changeover Experience with SAP systems would be highly regarded Applications are open to both internal and external candidates.
