ABOUT THE POSITIONS Pungalina Safari Camp is set within the breathtaking borders of the Australian Wildlife Conservancys PungalinaSeven Emu Wildlife Sanctuary - a vast and pristine conservation property stretching from the Savannah Way to the remote coastline of the Gulf of Carpentaria. The sanctuary protects more than 350 species of mammals, birds, reptiles and frogs across diverse and spectacular landscapes. Outback Spirit Tours is seeking two capable and adventurous couples to join us for the touring season from April through to October, living and working onsite at this truly unique and remote camp. Due to accommodation arrangements, applications must be from couples, filling the following four roles: Camp Manager Guide (Coxswain Licence required) Chef Camp Attendant CAMP MANAGER This is a handson leadership role overseeing the daytoday operations of the camp. Youll be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, exceptional guest experiences, and a strong, supportive team culture. Key responsibilities include: Leading and supporting onsite staff across all departments Delivering exceptional guest experiences and actively working towards strong Net Promoter Scores (NPS) Overseeing food and beverage service, accommodation standards, and guest activities Managing rosters, logistics, administration, and cost control Ensuring camp infrastructure and grounds are well maintained Driving a strong safety culture, including incident and hazard reporting Supporting staff inductions and ongoing training GUIDE (COXSWAIN LICENCE REQUIRED) The Guide plays a key role in bringing Pungalina to life for our guests through guided experiences on land and water. Key responsibilities include: Leading interpretive guest activities and wildlife experiences Operating guided boat tours on the Calvert River Sharing knowledge of local ecosystems, wildlife, and conservation Assisting with general camp operations and maintenance as required CHEF As our Solo Chef, youll take ownership of the kitchen and deliver highquality, hearty meals that exceed guest expectations even in a remote setting. Key responsibilities include: Managing daily kitchen operations independently Preparing and presenting highquality meals for guests and staff Ensuring strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas Creating memorable dining experiences that enhance each guests stay CAMP ATTENDANT The Camp Attendant is a true allrounder, supporting food and beverage service, housekeeping, and daily camp operations. Key responsibilities include: Providing warm, professional food and beverage service Supporting the kitchen with preparation, plating, and cleaning as needed Maintaining guest accommodation and shared spaces to a high standard Assisting with general camp duties and guest engagement Creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere throughout the camp WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (Chef) A positive, teamfocused attitude and strong work ethic Ability to live and work together in a remote environment Pride in cleanliness, presentation, and guest service Previous experience in remote, lodge, or expeditionstyle operations Strong leadership and communication skills A passion for nature, conservation, tourism, and guest experience Ability to problemsolve and adapt in a remote setting Current RSA, Food Safety, and Remote First Aid (including CPR) certificates Maintenance or grounds experience (highly regarded) REMOTE LIVING All of our camps and lodges are located in some of Australias most remote regions. Many cannot be accessed by road instead, youll be flown to site from Darwin via our private aviation network. Youll live and work onsite for the entirety of the season, without regular access to nearby towns or cities.
