Executive Director, Financial Services and AdvisoryAs the Executive Director, Financial Services and Advisory, you will provide high level strategic financial management services to the Chief Finance Officer, Deputy DirectorGeneral, executives, directors, and senior managers. Your role will focus on delivering strategic, targeted, and practical financial advisory services, including budget planning and management, complex pricing and costing analysis, debt and cash management activities, as well as financial accounting and reporting services to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of individual business activities.You will lead and manage a team of financial services specialists to deliver on government priorities, support departmental business areas in achieving quality outcomes, and ensure excellence in client service delivery. You will provide high level leadership and advice by fostering collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.What You Will Be DoingLead and manage the effective use of financial and human resources, including the development and monitoring of annual budgets, forward estimates, and commercial business units, while providing strategic financial and operational advice to support the Department''s objectives.Provide strategic advice to the Chief Finance Officer and Deputy Director General on financial management, planning, forecasting, monitoring, analysis, reporting, and strategic resourcing to ensure consistent implementation of finance activities and programs.Support the Chief Finance Officer in driving consistent financial and budget management policies, ensuring compliance with statutory provisions, Queensland Treasury guidelines, and professional standards.Develop and implement strategic frameworks, policies, and processes to ensure effective financial management, statutory compliance, and alignment with whole-of Government procedures.Advise on and coordinate annual resource allocation process, while managing, monitoring, and reporting on operating and capital budgets at both business area and divisional levels.Manage relationships and negotiations with key stakeholders, including Queensland Treasury, and oversee external and internal audit engagements.Identify opportunities for financial and budgetary management reform and ensure sound corporate governance through the establishment and maintenance of policy and program frameworks for managing departmental financial resources.Engage in business improvement reviews to integrate and consolidate financial management and systems processes, meeting business needs and corporate governance requirements.Provide highquality corporate governance advice and services on budgets, asset base, funding, and user charges to support the Chief Finance Officer and Deputy DirectorGeneral.Provide leadership in managing the human, financial, and physical resources of Financial Services, fostering a culture aligned with the Department''s vision and values, ensuring compliance with government policies, and promoting continuous business improvement and staff development.QualificationsIt is highly desirable that the successful candidate will possess appropriate Business or Finance qualifications and/or the following professional financial/accounting qualifications:CPA or above (for Australia)CA or above (the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia)PNA or above (the National Institute of Accountants)Qualifications from an overseas accounting body that are recognised by at least two of the aforementioned bodies as having equivalent requirements for membership.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Other InformationOccupational group: ExecutiveSeniority level: Not ApplicableEmployment type: FulltimeJob function: Business Development and SalesIndustries: Government AdministrationLocation: Brisbane, Queensland, AustraliaSalary range: A$220,000.00-A$260,000.00 #J-18808-Ljbffr
