We have an exciting opportunity for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our Engineering team on a fulltime permanent basis. Reporting to the Manager - Electronic Engineering. About the Role Groundup design & development of complex RF, analogue, digital & DSP/MCU communication circuits. Translation of highlevel requirements into detailed functional & technical specifications. Create & modify PCB schematics and layouts using the GME enterprise Altium designer toolset. Ensure designs meet performance, quality and manufacturing requirements. Prepare and maintain design, test, and manufacturing artefacts and documentation. Develop experiments, tests, proofofconcept analysis, and simulations for design proving. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate product requirements into designs. Perform electrical design verification tasks against requirements, standards, and specifications. Undertake environmental and compliance testing of components, modules, subsystems, and RF systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary disciplines to integrate RF & Electronic subsystems into products. Work with New Product Introduction teams for the transition of products to manufacturing. Work with Production Engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of design for mass production. Ensure design compliance to relevant legislative & technical requirements. Contribute to the GME product development across concept, production, and lifecycle management. Maintain shared component libraries and create new symbols, footprints, and mechanical information. Remain up to date with the latest and emerging technologies and relevant applications. Participate in technical reviews, sharing insights and best practices. Participate in and contribute to improvements in procedures, systems and processes. Any other duties consistent with the position as required. About You 8+ years electronic consumer product design experience within a manufacturing environment. Experience in the design of amplifiers, filters, power supplies, mixers, and oscillators. Experience in PCB design to IPC standards and development of analogue, digital and mixed signal circuits. Proficient in PCB floor planning and layout optimisation in high performance/high density PCB design. Experience using contemporary design tools such as Altium, ADS and LTspice. Experience performing electronic analysis, circuit simulation and circuit debugging. Experience with common test equipment such as power meters, oscilloscopes, analyzers, and generators. Experience working within quality frameworks such as ISO9001/ISO9100.
