Job Description

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary Brighton TAS Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is an ethical tourism enterprise, dedicated to the conservation of native species through wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, education, and experiences that connect people and wildlife. Our Wildlife Rescue Service handles thousands of calls for injured, orphaned and displaced animals each year, including many that have been the victims of cat attacks. Our patients include endemic and migratory species, some of which are listed as endangered and found nowhere else on planet Earth. Feline Fix is the name of our cat desexing program; a proactive conservation initiative aimed at stemming the tide of feral, unwanted and freeroaming cats. In response to the devastating toll that cats have on our native wildlife, we provide heavily discounted desexing, microchipping and vaccination services to owners who demonstrate responsible cat ownership and containment. To support the ongoing delivery of Feline Fix, we are looking to appoint a fixedterm, parttime Veterinary Nurse to work one day a week from our recently constructed cat clinic. This position is a maternity leave fill and operates from 8:30am to 5:00pm every Wednesday from our Wildlife Sanctuary in Brighton. If you have a passion for cats, animal welfare and wildlife conservation, this is a unique opportunity for you! Qualifications A Certificate IV or equivalent demonstrated experience in Veterinary Nursing Demonstrated experience working with companion animals, including surgical nursing of feline patients Practical experience using the fearfree approach to the handling and restraint of cats Welldeveloped interpersonal skills, including the capacity to work as part of a small, highperforming team Strong timemanagement and organisational skills To express an interest in this unique opportunity with a strong conservation focus, send your resume and a maximum onepage supporting statement to *****@bonorong.com.au.
