65 Staunton Street, Tennant Creek NT 0860 Position: Music Manager Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer Main Responsibilities General Work with the CEO to plan, design and oversee creative program initiatives that are consistent with the organisations strategic plan. Collaborate with the CEO to seek out financial and strategic opportunities for Barkly Regional Arts artistic programs. Work with CEO to ensure appropriate evaluation and reporting of programs and activities. Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations of Winanjjikari Music Centre (WMC) and liaise with the CEO on workplace priorities. Liaise with CEO and other major stakeholders to assist and provide input to Barkly Arts Annual Calendar of artistic events. Work with the CEO and Finance/Admin Co-ordinator to develop and oversee a WMC budget for the Annual Calendar. Music Development and Production Plan, record, produce, mix and release music, media and video content for musicians, bands, community groups, schools and individuals from across the Barkly. Work with Barkly communities, stakeholders, and existing networks to target active musicians and bands to ensure that opportunities to record and release material are being provided to those who are requesting an opportunity to do so. Identify mentoring and training opportunities for Indigenous community members in music production, live sound and songwriting and provide professional development and training where appropriate. Travel where required to Barkly communities and beyond to assist in the recording, artistic development, mentoring, training, and recording of Barkly Musicians and Artists. Coordinate the public release of music, audio and visual content from Barkly musicians and artists with CEO and Media Coordinator. Oversee maintenance of WMC Recording Studio ensuring it is in good working order with appropriate equipment and usage. Project Management Oversee, manage and coordinate Audio and Visual Tech requirements for BRA events as well as managing bookings and delivery of fee for service contracts across Barkly Region. Oversee control, management, and records of WMC warehousing, maintenance and replacement of digital audio and visual equipment, instruments, and studio requirements. Advise CEO regarding hiring staff artists, event managers, performers and artists, designers, etc. to support the Annual Calendar. Develop, sign and implement contractual arrangements with musicians and artists to ensure content released for public and commercial use is done in a legally, financially and ethically consistent manner. Coordinate evaluation and reporting of programs and activities. Negotiate clearly advance bookings and scheduling to ensure suitable timing for projects and travel. Skills & Experience Qualifications Appropriate, recognised arts related and/or management related qualifications at least at Bachelor level. Experience working in remote locations and with indigenous communities and indigenous people and artists is essential. Music Working knowledge and experience of Music Industry including: releasing music, online streaming, legalities, synchronising opportunities, promotion, marketing, event and staffing roles, requirements and processes. Professional experience in recording, editing, mixing, producing music and audio, film and video. Understanding of creative pursuits and the priorities of artists working towards creative pursuits. Experience working with remote musicians and bands. Experience in event and music leadership. Understanding of working in diverse arts contexts and broader arts sector. Management Excellent organisational and time management skills. Able to gain and maintain respect of staff and key stakeholders. Able to lead a team and delegate effectively. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Interpersonal Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work in partnership with artists and representatives from community organisations, local government, arts organisations and funders.
