We own and manage farms, factories, and distribution channels, ensuring complete control over the essential aspects of bringing livestock from paddock to plate.We currently have an opportunity for a Young Livestock Manager to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria.MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee Calf RearingDaily livestock care: monitor for illness, disease and stressMonitor newborn calves and ensure timely colostrum administrationMaintain clean, safe and comfortable housing environmentsMonitor calf health, growth and conditionManage treatment protocols and liaise with senior management when requiredMaintain accurate calf health and growth recordsCalf WeaningFollow structured weaning programsEnsure calves transition smoothly from milkMonitor weight, growth rates, and overall wellbeing during the weaning periodAdjust feeding and housing as needed to promote optimal developmentOther ResponsibilitiesAssist with general livestock handling and movementAdminister health treatments and follow biosecurity and quarantine proceduresMaintain hygiene and biosecurity across young stock facilitiesRecord all treatments, medication and animal movementsMaintain accurate livestock records using farm software such as Tru-Test and AgriWebbSupport wider farm operations during busy periods (calving & yard work)Help maintain vehicle service schedule''s, shed maintenance and water systemsFollow WHS procedures and use appropriate PPEUphold all animal welfare, safety and environmental standardsSKILLS & EXPERIENCES:Experience in calf rearing or livestock managementCompetency in animal health treatments and equipment operationStrong understanding of animal husbandry and calf developmentAttention to detail and excellent observational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication and record keeping skillsPhysically fit and comfortable working outdoorsWHY JOIN US?Competitive remuneration coupled with employee benefits such as discounts on banking, health and travel insurance, fitness memberships, local retailers and moreOpportunity for career progression within our global organisationSafe and supportive work environment by providing an Employee Assistance ProgramOn site canteen, free parking, staff discounts, monthly staff BBQs and annual flu vaccination programThe Midfield Group is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
