Plant Manager - Material Recovery Facility Re.Group is an Australian-owned company focused on providing solutions for recycling and recovery of resources from waste. This role is based at a refurbished Material Recovery Facility (MRF) at Chinderah, supporting improved safety, reliability, and processing performance for the Northern NSW region. In addition, the role provides oversight of the Grafton MRF, ensuring consistent operational standards and performance across both sites. The Plant Manager role will be engaged on a casual basis, operating Monday to Friday, five days per week, while carrying full site leadership and operational accountability. The successful candidate will lead the Chinderah facility through stable, high-performing day-to-day operations while maintaining regular leadership presence at Grafton (approximately one day per week). About the role Lead the Chinderah MRF through stable, efficient, and safe day-to-day operations following refurbishment Provide operational oversight of the Grafton MRF, including one day per week onsite leadership Manage live production activities while embedding disciplined, reliable, and safe operating practices Implement Re.Groups health, safety, environmental, and compliance standards across both sites Establish, lead, and develop site leadership and operational teams, setting clear expectations and accountability Deliver consistent throughput, quality, safety, and cost performance across both facilities Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and contractual obligations, including audit readiness and reporting Develop and deliver site operating plans with clear operational, safety, and financial KPIs Drive continuous improvement using LEAN principles, structured problem-solving, and datadriven decisionmaking Manage site budgets, cost control, and financial performance to achieve agreed service and margin outcomes Maintain and actively use plant capacity models to monitor availability, utilisation, and efficiency Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to improve reliability, resolve defects, and embed sustainable operating practices Provide regular reporting and performance insights to senior operational leadership About you Proven experience leading industrial or processing facilities as the accountable site leader Strong operational leadership capability with a demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental performance Background in recycling, waste processing, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments Experience leading refurbished or upgraded facilities into stable operating performance Demonstrated experience implementing LEAN, 5S, or continuous improvement systems in live operating environments Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to manage plant performance, reliability, and fault resolution Confident people leader capable of building stable, safetyfocused teams across multiple sites Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing site budgets and operational cost control Willingness and ability to travel regularly between Chinderah and Grafton Why us?
