Temporary Staff Specialist in Neurology CCLHD Employment Type: Temporary PartTime Position Classification: Staff Specialist Requisition ID: REQ266126 Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners eligible for registration in New South Wales for the above position within the Department of Neurology, Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD). Applicants should be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and / or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award. (Applicants expecting to be awarded their fellowship within three months may be considered. If successful the applicant will not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until the relevant qualifications and requirements are formally completed.) This is a parental relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from parental leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Parental relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for parental leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency. This position has obligations to both Gosford Hospital and Wyong Hospital. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award. Responsibilities Practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Neurology. Work constructively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Lead and supervise medical and surgical trainees, residents and medical students; for example, experience in teaching the management of the deteriorating patient would be advantageous. Engage in quality improvement methodologies. Contribute to the Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, aligning behaviours to the NSW CORE values and CCLHD Values and Behaviours charter. Qualifications Medical Practitioner registered or able to be registered in Australia, inclusive of an unrestricted 19AB exempted provider number. Recognised specialist qualifications, Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and / or other equivalent specialist recognition. Demonstrated subspecialty interest in headache with experience in headache management. Ability to work constructively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
