Cook Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Learn to Swim Program Development Officer to coordinate and grow our muchloved Learn to Swim program at the Cooktown Community Swimming Pool. About the role This is a handson, communityfocused position where no two days are the same. Youll take the lead in delivering highquality swimming and water safety programs while supporting instructors, engaging with families and strengthening community participation. Working approximately 20 hours per week, this parttime role is ideal for someone looking for flexibility while still making a meaningful impact. We are looking for someone to: Coordinate daytoday swim school operations, including enrolments, timetables and scheduling Develop and continuously improve Learn to Swim programs that meet community needs Lead, mentor and roster swimming instructors Promote water safety and encourage participation across all age groups Provide excellent customer service to families, schools and the wider community Support pool operations and step into Lifeguard or Pool Attendant duties when required Build strong relationships with schools, clubs and community organisations About you Current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent) Current First Aid & CPR certification Queensland Blue Card Experience in swim teaching, aquatic programs or a similar role Highly Regarded Experience supervising staff or coordinating programs Knowledge of aquatic facility operations and safety standards How to apply Cover Letter outlining why you are interested in this role; and A detailed and uptodate Resume/CV.
