About the Role The Youth Connector supports the delivery of the Firefly program in the Shoalhaven Bay & Basin area. Working closely with the Community Impact Strategy Coordinator and Community Connector team, this role contributes to the delivery of high-quality programs, activities and opportunities for young people. This is a handson, community-based role that connects directly with young people, families, schools, community organisations and local partners. You will engage young people through a grassroots approach, build trust, amplify youth voice and support the delivery of projects, events and communications that reflect the aspirations of young people in the region. Key Accountabilities As the Youth Connector, you will: Work collaboratively within a small, multidisciplinary team Build a strong understanding of the needs, interests and aspirations of local young people Confidently engage, attract and build rapport with young people Create opportunities for young people to share ideas and influence program delivery Support youthled projects that matter to young people Assist with the delivery of events and activities targeted to young people Support and strengthen partnerships with schools, community organisations and key stakeholders Contribute to program communications, including social media and website content Support youth governance initiatives, including youth advisory groups and advocacy activities To be successful, you will also: Support the Coordinator and Community Connector to deliver meaningful programmes across the Bay & Basin Assist in developing and delivering content for youth projects in schools and community settings Help build trust and collaboration across the community Provide general project support aligned to agreed strategies and plans Be willing to participate in programme communications and engagement activities About You As a Uniting team member, you will actively support inclusion, respect and community connection.
