An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Dolphins! Due to an internal promotion, our collaborative finance team is seeking an experienced and performance-driven individual to join our team as an Accountant. About us The Dolphins are a professional rugby league team in the National Rugby League (NRL). Founded in 1947, they have a 78-year history in grassroots rugby league and the community. The Dolphins sit within the Dolphins Group, who is a diversified business with various revenue streams, including an aquatic/fitness centre and a shopping centre. The Group currently turns over $50+ million annually and has an asset portfolio worth over $100 million. Success for the Dolphins involves not only winning matches on the field and trophies for the cabinet, but also improving and growing our players, staff, and community off the field in all their endeavours. It also means expanding the NRL and rugby league amongst new markets and potential fans. Tasks & responsibilities Ensuring compliance with Dolphins monthly accounting, FBT and BAS requirements. Reporting and forecasting of company cashflow. Maintenance and reporting on the company asset register. Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards to visualise key financial metrics Development and implementation of a whole of business sales report. Reconciliation and review of all Event P&L reports to ensure completeness in the general ledger. Update and manage the reconciliation of various commercial revenue streams (i.e membership, corporate hospitality and merchandise). Invoicing for all sponsorship and other contracted revenue and maintain the relevant contracting schedules. Oversee record keeping and processes of contra products and exchange of invoices. Reconciliation and reporting for Dolphins House. Reporting on the aged debtors list. Manage the player medical bills and claims process Support the Finance Manager in the compilation of annual budget data. Assist with end-of-year audit and statutory reporting. Qualifications & experience Tertiary qualification in business/commerce accounting major. Previous experience in public practice is preferred. Proven experience in a management or financial accounting role is preferred (3 years min.). Previous experience in the sports or entertainment events industry and an understanding of professional sporting team culture is desirable. High level of competency in Microsoft suite of products with strong Excel skills is a must. Prior experience with accounting software Xero, Hubdoc and Approval Max is highly desirable. Enthusiasm, initiative, attention to detail and a positive attitude.
