As the Health and Safety Lead, you will play a vital role in shaping a sustainable energy future for Queensland, delivering impactful solutions that benefit our communities and the environment. What Youll Do We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Lead for a twoyear maxterm opportunity, working an8/6 roster at our Borumba Project site (located west of the Sunshine Coast, approximately 55km from Kilcoy/25km from Imbil). The role is a backtoback role and will be DIDO to designated parknride facilities in either Imbil or Kilcoy. You will be provided accommodation at the onsite worker accommodation camp. In this pivotal role, you will oversee site safety assurance and deliver expert health and safety support to our project teams. Your responsibilities will include auditing, risk management, incident investigation, and driving the implementation of behavioural safety frameworks. Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety & Environment, you will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of safety for our employees, contractors and the local community. Your key responsibilities will be: Lead the promotion and integration of Queensland Hydros safety culture, which involves promoting and demonstrating safe behaviours and practices, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, and identifying hazards and unsafe acts. Provide highlevel safety support to Queensland Hydro employees as well as any Queensland Hydro contractors working on site, including provision of safety training as required and investigating incidents. Ensure consistent implementation of Queensland Hydros H&S Management System for the Queensland Hydro Project team. Lead and oversee the review of Principal Contractor documentation against project requirements and obligations including but not limited to reviewing contractor safety management plans and related subplans (e.g. traffic management plans) and procedures. Develop and manage risk activities and reviews to address key risks, issues and specific activities which may have an impact on the Project. Who You Are To thrive in this role, you will bring a formal qualification in Health & Safety and an additional qualification in ICAM Lead Investigator or Taproot Incident Investigation. You will have experience in a client role for major projects, with proven ability to drive safety compliance and enforce regulatory requirements. Your extensive experience in a senior safety role in civil construction, utilities or related industry will ensure your alignment with business goals. In addition, to set you up for success, you will exhibit: Expertise in Contractor Management and H&S governance. Experience in underground construction. Proven ability to build productive, collaborative and cooperative relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, to encourage innovation and ensure best practice. Advanced knowledge of WHS legislation including Codes of Practices and AS/NZS ISO. Proven ability to facilitate risk assessments, safety investigations, and safety audits. Extensive experience in managing critical risk and control management in a highrisk environment. Proficient in developing safety performance metrics and reporting to senior stakeholders.
