About the Centre Torrensville Community Childcare Centre (TCCC) is a warm, community-based, not-for-profit service proudly operated by UnitingCare Wesley Bowden (UCWB). About the Role An exciting full-time permanent opportunity now exists for an experienced, dynamic and forward-thinking Centre Director to lead Torrensville Community Childcare Centre into its next chapter of excellence. Reporting to the Executive Manager Services (UCWB), you will thrive on building relationships, elevating practices and shaping a cohesive, contemporary early learning environment whilst providing transformational leadership across a team of approximately 20 educators working across four rooms. Supported by the Assistant Director, Administrator and broader UCWB leadership & Quality teams, this role is suited to an energetic, organised, emotionally intelligent and action-orientated Director who can inspire, mentor and bring out the best in others. The first 12-18 months will focus on embedding strong educational programs and consistent practice, conducting a skill gap analysis and designing staff development pathways, strengthening systems, routines, organisational structure and enhancing community connections and family engagement. Duties Provide transformational leadership that exceeds National Quality Standards Oversee the design and delivery of high-quality, evidence-based programs Collaborate with UCWB to implement strategic initiatives and quality improvements Maintain a strong presence on the floor and with families Manage centre performance, including utilisation targets and financial oversight Support recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews and retention strategies Build positive relationships with families, community partners and stakeholders Lead staff meetings, closure days and ongoing professional learning Maintain a safe, compliant, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment Skills & Experience ACECQA-recognised Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education Proven experience as a Centre Director or senior early learning leader Strong capability in people management, team culture, and staff development Demonstrated ability to embed contemporary program and practice Strong understanding of NQF, EYLF, WHS, and compliance requirements Experience driving continuous improvement through collaboration and reflective practice Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with families Strategic thinker with strong planning, organisation, and follow-through Financial and business acumen, including budgeting, and monitoring utilisation Current SA Working with Children Check, First Aid, RRHAN-EC, Food Safety and Safe Sleep Culture & Benefits Not-for-profit organisation with salary packaging Structured leadership support from UCWB Stable, long-standing educator team with strong loyalty Dedicated Assistant Director and Administrator Opportunity to shape long-term centre culture, community connection and practice Monthly team meetings and twice-monthly leadership meetings (paid) Warm, community-focused environment with a strong reputation in the local area Genuine opportunity to embed sustainable, high-quality systems How to Apply Click APPLY to submit your application, including a cover letter and CV in one Microsoft Word document.
