In all that we grow, we''re committed to sustainable production and growing.Primary ObjectiveThis role is based in Atherton, Far North Queensland; you may be required to work across all 4 sites in the area. Operate and maintain farm implements, tractors, and spraying units, for the application of various Crop Protection Applications.About the Role:Operate tractor and spray unit combination toward the safe and accurate application of crop protection products to a Berry cropPerform regular checks and preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery as directedAccurate preparation of chemical mixtures (insecticides, fungicides, herbicides) to be used in spray operationsEnsure all equipment is regularly washed down and cleaned according to set standardsMaintain logs and records for spray applications and for the regular stock take of chemicalsAssist in the regular calibration of all equipmentWork flexible shifts, night shift or day shift, dependent on limitations imposed by weather conditionsGood planning and time management to ensure set tasks are completed in a timely mannerAbility to work autonomously and follow direction without supervisionOther reasonable duties, as directedAbout YouLooking for long term ongoing employmentGood communication skillsEffective time managementAbility to perform hard physical labour for extended periods of time in adverse weather conditionsAbility to operate tools and equipment for the maintenance and repair of farm machinery and equipmentAbility to perform preventative maintenance on farm machinery and equipmentStrong team PlayerChemical accreditation certificate e.g. chemcert or other (desired)Previous spray operator experience (desired)Previous experience in operating and maintaining farm implements (desired)What we offer:Costa harvest trail ability to transfer and travel between sites as the season changes!Access to clean toilets, drinking water and free on-site car parking.Full-Training provided for all tasks creating work flexibility and consistency.Celebrate Cultural Days (Occasional BBQ''s and Free Drinks).Paid in line with the Costa Berries Enterprise Agreement.Free Access to an Employee Assistant Program.Opportunities for Learning, Development, and progression.Make new friends, learn new skills, learn about new cultures.
