General Manager - Market Operations & Grid Salary $200K to $220K + super & salary packaging The General Manager Market Operations & Grid will play a key role in leading policy development and advocacy in relation to electricity market and transmission network matters. You will lead your team in communicating and influencing relevant legislative, regulatory and policy frameworks, advocate strongly on behalf of our large-scale membership base and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to strengthen Australias planning and environment frameworks. You will play a leadership role in driving the clean energy transition by managing and coordinating market operations and grid issues across the CEC membership and ensuring delivery on the agreed priority issues for members. You will utilize highlevel, deep and trusted networks to ensure the right policy settings for the renewable energy big build. Liaising with the Federal and State Government, agencies, regulators, and other external stakeholders this position will facilitate an environment that supports largescale deployment in Australia. Key Responsibilities Policy and Impact: Proactively lead the development and delivery of policy and advocacy strategies that enable the growth of Australias renewable energy industry. Members and key stakeholders: Maintain proactive member and stakeholder engagement through the CECs various MOG Directorates and Working Groups actively capturing member insights and feedback, and ensuring highquality policy advice plays a central role in strengthening the CEC member value proposition and delivering tangible member outcomes. Regulatory Reform: Lead work to support the industrys Connection Reform Initiative with AEMO supporting our members connect to the network. Strategy Support: Support crossorganisational priorities, including the delivery of key events and membership engagement activities. Operational Excellence: Lead the performance of your area and provide timely reporting, using Monday.com, to contribute to high quality reports and presentations to Board, senior member forums and key stakeholders. Leading teams: Proactively lead, develop and coach the Market Operations & Grid team to meet their full potential and to deliver highquality, responsive service, recognising and acknowledging good performance/results. Culture: Lead by example and ensure that employees expectations are clear to build a culture of collaboration in line with CEC values, promoting a crossteam and projectbased delivery approach. Member Value and Insight: Champion a strong member value proposition by ensuring member feedback, market intelligence and internal insights are actively translated into policy priorities, advocacy activity and delivery decisions, creating a clear line of sight between member needs and CEC outcomes. Other responsibilities as reasonably asked. This is a fulltime, permanent position working 76 hours per fortnight (1 FTE). The annual salary for this role is $200K to $222K plus super. About you Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in an energyrelated discipline, preferably renewable energy, economics or engineering. Five (5) to seven (7) years experience in a similar energy or policy role. Strong communication skills; able to simplify technical information. Solid understanding of government policy and regulatory processes. Knowledge of Australias electricity transmission networks and markets. Understanding of electricity market reform in Australia. Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience. Experience providing policy advice and contributing to statutory planning (desirable). Public speaking, facilitation and media experience (desirable). Strong relationshipbuilding, organisation, and planning skills. Excellent analytical, problemsolving and attention to detail. Ability to work outside standard hours when required.
