Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875 and is a member school of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS). It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The Schools campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba. It is our vision that our boys will graduate from TGS with the skills to be independent, well-balanced, and successful in life. About the Position The Head of Sport - Rugby at Toowoomba Grammar School is a prominent non-teaching role designed for an enthusiastic and experienced Rugby leader. This pivotal position involves spearheading the comprehensive development and coordination of our Rugby program, focusing on player progression, tactical acumen, and instilling a profound love for the sport. This role is a unique opportunity to shape the trajectory of our Rugby program. The position involves overseeing all aspects of the Rugby curriculum, from player development and fixture coordination to building robust relationships with stakeholders. Selection Criteria: You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to: Rugby Development and Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a comprehensive Rugby program, with a focus on coach education, player progression, tactical development, and fostering a strong passion for the sport. Proven experience in designing, coordinating, and delivering Rugby initiatives that support both individual and team growth. Ability to inspire players and coaches, build positive relationships with stakeholders, and set a clear vision for Rugby within the school community.Rugby Coaching Expertise: Demonstrated coaching accreditation (minimum ARU Level 2). Extensive experience in coaching Rugby, particularly at the school or representative level. Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate players of varying ages and skill levels.Safety and Compliance: Possession of a current Positive Notice (Blue Card) issued by the Qld Commission for Children & Young People. Maintenance of a current Senior First Aid Certificate, dedication in managing the compliance requirements of your coaches, and emphasising a commitment to player safety and well-being.Effective Communication and Relationship Building: Advanced communication and liaison skills with students, parents, staff, and external Rugby organisations. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships at all levels, including students, parents, academic staff, sports coaches, and external stakeholders.Technical Proficiency and System Management: High-level technical proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, OneNote, Microsoft Teams, and related school software. Competence in managing the School''s database systems and software applications, with a focus on creating and maintaining efficient systems.Multitasking and Time Management: Capacity to manage the complexity and diversity of the role effectively. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume work environment, reflecting a proactive, efficient, and action-oriented approach.Commitment to a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Demonstrated commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants in line with the Schools values and policies.
