About the Role The Head of HSIE is a key middle leadership position within the Senior School (Years 712), responsible for leading excellence in teaching and learning across the Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty. This full-time, permanent role includes a teaching load and carries Level 2 (L2) leadership status. Reporting to the Head of Senior School and Deputy Principal, the Head of HSIE provides strategic curriculum leadership, mentors and manages faculty staff, and drives continuous improvement in student outcomes within a values-driven Christian learning environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee HSIE curriculum and assessment across Years 712, ensuring compliance with NESA requirements. Provide instructional leadership, coaching, and professional development for faculty staff. Model exemplary teaching practice and promote innovative, research-informed pedagogy. Use student data to inform teaching strategies and improve academic outcomes. Foster a collaborative, high-performing faculty culture aligned with the schools Christian ethos. Contribute to whole-school initiatives and the wider life of the school. The Successful Candidate Will Have Proven experience or emerging leadership in HSIE within a secondary setting. Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum / NESA requirements. Excellent communication, organisational, and people leadership skills. An active Christian faith, with the ability to authentically model and support Christian education in daily practice.
