Legal Counsel Viva Energy Australia is looking for an Legal Counsel to provide expert legal advice and support across a diverse range of transactions and strategic initiatives. This role will primarily focus on our Convenience & Mobility (Retail) business, where you will partner with stakeholders to navigate complex legal matters, ensure compliance, and enable business growth. Youll play a critical role in shaping commercial outcomes, mitigating risk, and delivering practical solutions that align with our long-term objectives. Responsibilities & Requirements Convenience & Mobility (Retail) Provide legal advice on contract interpretation, risk management, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Draft and review a variety of commercial agreements. Advise on advertising/marketing campaigns and customer competitions. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure legal support aligns with business objectives and mitigates potential risks. General Legal Support Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and other departments within the organisation. Stay updated on relevant legal developments and support compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures. Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other thirdparty advisors. Qualifications Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent; admission to practice law in Australia. Current Australian Practising Certificate. Minimum of 5 years of postqualification experience in commercial/corporate law gained within private practice or inhouse (preferably within the convenience retailing or energy sectors). Indepth knowledge of the Australian Consumer Law, with experience in competition law a plus. Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels. High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail. Strategic Thinking Negotiation Skills Legal Research and Analysis Stakeholder Management Adaptability and Resilience Ability to work independently by selfmanaging workloads and projects, and also be team focused.
