OverviewYala Yallingup (formerly Empire Retreat & Spa) offers a rare opportunity for an experienced, people-focused hospitality leader to run day-to-day operations of a renowned retreat and spa, maintaining and evolving the exceptional standards recognised by our Michelin Key.This is the heartbeat of Yalashaping team culture, nurturing talent, and delivering guest experiences that are thoughtful, consistent, and unforgettable.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day operations across the retreat and spa ensuring smooth delivery and profitabilityLead and develop four functional leads building accountability, capability and autonomyBe highly visible and approachable setting the tone for culture, service and guest experienceManage the upkeep of facilities and external grounds, exercising sound judgement around timing prioritisation and communication to protect the guest experienceThink strategically about recruitment onboarding and coachingOwn financial and performance outcomes including operating expense budgets and revenue driversWork with ownership to explore and develop complementary revenue streams including events, experiences and driving midweek demandContribute to the evolution of the Yala brand and the guest experienceKey Attributes & ExperienceProven leadership in luxury retreats, spas, or premium hospitality environmentsConfidence managing teams of around 20+ across a mix of permanent and casual staffExperience overseeing facilities and grounds, coordinating multiple external suppliersStrong judgement in balancing guest expectations, operational realities, and maintenance needsA calm, authentic leadership style with excellent people instinctsCommercial awareness, including comfort with budgets, rosters, and performance metricsAlignment with the Southwest lifestyle and its relaxed yet highquality approach to hospitalityWhat We OfferCompetitive salary packageGenuine autonomy and trust from ownershipOnsite flexibility and a values aligned working environmentThe opportunity to shape the next chapter of a special property under new custodianshipFull Australian working rights are essential.
