We are located on the campus of the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba and boast a rich tapestry of cultural backgrounds and experiences amongst our families and educators and cultural diversity is strongly embedded in our ethos.As a Nature Play Queensland accredited education provider, the natural environment is an integral part of our program. Children are encouraged to explore and discover, respect and care for the native wildlife and the land on which they play.What youll be doingThis is a unique opportunity for an experienced Diploma-qualified educator to lead our Pre-Kindy Room (34 years), working three days per week (Wednesday to Friday), commencing 5 January 2025.During Terms 1 and 2, there will be the opportunity to step into a full-time room leader role, while our Educational Leader is temporarily off the floor supporting service improvement and Assessment and Rating preparation.In this role, you will be responsible for the supervision, wellbeing and learning of children, as well as building strong, respectful relationships with families and carers. At Mirambeena, we work collaboratively as a team to ensure all care, education and operational tasks are completed. You will be actively involved in daily and weekly planning and contribute to shared goals for both the room and the service.You will confidently implement the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and demonstrate a strong understanding of the assessment and planning cycle, including taking purposeful observations, analysing childrens learning, identifying next steps and extending learning experiences. You will contribute to high-quality documentation that makes childrens learning visible, engage in reflective practice, and foster collaborative partnerships to enrich each childs learning and development.Qualifications & experienceA minimum of 3 years experience working in an early learning setting (experience with 34 year olds highly regarded)Demonstrated confidence and competence in the assessment and planning cycle, including observations, analysis and learning extensionsExceptional interpersonal skills, including relationship building with families and colleagues, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to self-regulate during challenging situationsAbility to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high level of initiativeExperience working with children from 3 months to 5 yearsA current Blue Card (Working with Children Suitability Notice)First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, Asthma and Child Protection certificationsWhy our team love working hereAbove award wages5 days paid special leave to accommodate our two-week Christmas closure period (start before Christmas and still enjoy a paid holiday!)Free first aid, asthma, and anaphylaxis and CPR certificationFree annual child protection trainingFree annual Red Nose trainingOur commitmentMirambeena Children''s Centre is a child-safe organisation committed to ensuring every child can learn and develop in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
