Together were building hope and possibility for all.Find out more about us and our purpose.Your opportunityJoin Mission Australia as an Injury Management & WHS Specialist and strengthen a culture of safety and wellbeing so our people can serve communities with confidence.In this role you will coordinate personcentred returntowork plans, navigate workers compensation across multiple jurisdictions, build trusted relationships with injured staff, insurers, brokers, and leaders, and lead WHS initiatives that reduce risk and support sustainable, meaningful work; keeping our purpose at the heart of every decision.Your key responsibilities will be to :Be the first point of contact when an injury happens; lodging claims promptly and setting up practical, personcentred returntowork plans.Ensure compliance across states by applying the right workers compensation rules, keeping records accurate, and managing wage payments and reimbursements.Partner with people, not just processes; working closely with injured team members, managers, HR, insurers and providers to remove barriers and support a safe, sustainable return to meaningful work.Keep everyone informed by sharing clear updates and the right documents at each step so decisions are easy and recovery stays on track.Track outcomes and share insights; monitoring trends in mechanism of injury (including physical and psychosocial) and geographical locationsReduce risk and promote wellbeing by identifying trends and psychosocial risks, suggesting suitableduties options, and highlighting costeffective supports that speed recovery.Contribute to safety initiatives by supporting WHS projects and process improvements that strengthen our culture of safety and wellbeing so our people can keep serving communities.Providing data metrics and LTIFR in the Executive Committee (monthly) and Board reports (quarterly)Requirements for successReturn to Work (RTW) Coordinator training for applicable states (or willingness to complete promptly);HSR training / Cert IV WHS is highly regarded.2+ years experience coordinating injury management / RTW, ideally in a Workers Compensation insurer / Broker or large multisite organisation.Solid working knowledge of workers compensation and WHS requirements across multiple jurisdictions.Experience with risk / incident reporting platforms and injury management software (e.g., SOLVInjury), with accurate recordkeeping.Clear, compassionate communication and the ability to build trust with injured workers, leaders, HR, insurers and providers.Strong planning, time management and attention to detail to manage claims, payments, reimbursements and documentation.Ability to identify trends and psychosocial hazards, apply practical controls, and solve problems to support safe, sustainable return to work.Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children / vulnerable people.Your benefitsTo ensure our employees feel valued, empowered, and celebrated, we provide a range of employee benefits including :Rewarding work every day you know youre making a real differenceNot-for-profit salary packaging, reducing your tax (details via AccessPay )Free external, confidential counselling and access to chaplaincy supportVolunteering opportunitiesOpportunity to purchase additional annual leaveExtra leave including: Mission Australia Thank You Day & Work Anniversary Day offOur cultureOur innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.We prioritise the safety and wellbeing of everyone, both within our team and the individuals we serve.We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.
