Position: Geotechnical Drillers Offsider at Western Geotec PtyLtd. Location: Jandakot, Perth, WA. Type: Casual / Vacation. Pay: $45 per hour. Overview We are seeking a Geotechnical Drillers Offsider to support geotechnical drilling operations. The role is not underground mining; tasks occur at various job sites and durations. An initial 6month probation will determine a potential permanent fulltime offer. Responsibilities Listen to and follow the drillers guidance. Prestart rig checks at the start of each day. Clean and maintain rigs at job end. Manual handling: load and unload equipment from vehicles. Set up and pack down the site. Operate the water truck: fill at a standpipe or water source. Use initiative to work independently while the driller operates. Assist with yard work between drilling jobs. Qualifications & Skills Mandatory: LR drivers licence. Manual truck licence and experience driving a truck. Ability to pass a preemployment medical and drug/alcohol test. Police clearance for some mine site work. Desirable: Filemaintaining skills. Mechanical aptitude. Ability to work under pressure; work unsupervised. Good, clear spoken English. Safety focused. Fit and strong, capable of manual handling all day. Ability to work in uneven/slippery ground, outdoors, noisy environments. Strength to work long periods without needing to stop and sit. Additional Notes Initial 6month probation at casual rate. Postprobation, potential fulltime position with penalty rates, overtime and leave. No set roster; positions vary in length and location. Requires reliable transport. Must be available for preemployment medical and online inductions. Job requires heavy lifting and repeated manual handling.
