Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Human Resources Manager to provide both strategic and operational leadership of HR across our school community. Reporting to the Principal and working closely with the Finance Manager and Board of Directors, this role plays a critical part in building a positive workplace culture, ensuring legislative and childsafe compliance, and supporting staff across the full employee lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in an education or not-for-profit environment and who is passionate about people, culture, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Providing strategic HR advice and leadership aligned with the schools mission and values Leading workforce planning, organisational development, and change management initiatives Managing end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding for teaching and support staff Ensuring child-safe recruitment practices and compliance with relevant legislation and standards Supporting leaders with employee relations, performance management, and workplace matters Overseeing HR policies, procedures, and employment contracts Working collaboratively with Payroll and Finance to ensure compliant employment conditions Leading staff wellbeing, engagement, and professional development initiatives Managing HR systems (Employment Hero), reporting, and workforce data About You You will be a confident and approachable HR professional with strong judgement and a collaborative working style. You bring both technical expertise and high emotional intelligence, and you are comfortable managing sensitive matters with discretion. You will have: A degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations, or a related field Demonstrated experience in an HR management role (education or notforprofit experience highly regarded) Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and NES Experience across recruitment, employee relations, policy development, and HR compliance Excellent communication, negotiation, and problemsolving skills Experience using HR systems and Microsoft 365 Why Join Us?
