Leading Hand Mechanical - Sunshine Sugar Condong We currently have a vacancy for a Mechanical Trades Leading hand at Condong Sugar Mill, in the Tweed Valley, 5 minutes to Murwillumbah. What''s involved? We currently have a vacancy for a Mechanical Leading hand at Condong. This role reports to the Planner (Process) and operates under the oversight of the Maintenance Engineer. It plays a key part in supporting the maintenance team by: Provide technical advice and leadership The team is a mixture of mechanical trades, riggers, scaffolders and labourers. As the Mechanical leading hand, youll be responsible for daily communication with site teams relating to operations, maintenance and general issues. The role requires hands on supervision of tasks in a heavy industrial environment. You will also act as a backup for the Maintenance Planner as required and be responsible for frontline performance management of the team. We are looking for Relevant trade skills (Boilermaker or similar) Experience in sugar mills or similar heavy industrial environment Strong focus on the preparation of formal risk assessments and improving safety awareness and culture Contribution to continuous improvement, SWMS, RAs, RCFAs and KPIs Demonstrated leadership experience or qualities Commitment and good attitude to safety and culture Sound problem solving and trouble shooting skills Previous experience mentoring and training apprentices highly regarded We can offer you 5 weeks annual leave 25% leave loading (on 4 weeks) 9 day fortnight in off season (January - June) RDO a month How to apply To be considered, please upload a cover letter outlining your suitability for the role along with your resume.
