The Role Patient Care Provide Consultant Service to inpatients. Conduct or direct outpatient clinics if needed in all aspects of Medical Oncology. Participate in quality assurance programs for the Medical Oncology Department. Teaching Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate specialist trainee teaching. Liaise with the University of Tasmanias Department of Medicine in respect to the teaching of undergraduates and Registrars. Research Maintain an active involvement in research. Management Responsible to the Head of Unit (Medical Oncology). Liaison with the University of Tasmanias Department of Medicine on issues relating to undergraduate teaching and research. Actively participate in and contribute to the organisations Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training. Salary Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Award. A remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority. Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $216,300 through to Level 11 at $296,640 with further salary increments available. Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216$310,389 is subject to criteria for levels 13 as outlined. Additional allowances: motor vehicle allowance, Continuing Professional Development Allowance and others as per Award. Details of Appointment Fixed term fulltime day work, working 76 hours per fortnight commencing 2 February 2026 until 3 April 2026. Essential Requirements Holds specialist registration; or Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) on the specialist pathway. Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an IMG with a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality. Desirable Requirements Relevant postgraduate qualifications to practice in Medical Oncology.
