Overview Custodial Operations Correctional Centre Leadership Exciting, Transformational Era with Significant Scale Complexity. This is an incredibly exciting time for visible, agile and high performing Corrective Services leaders to join the Northern Territory''s Department of Corrections'' Future Leaders Program as a General Manager in Custodial Operations. These vital leadership positions will continue the transformational journey of the Department and its expansion to strategically and operationally lead and manage correctional centres throughout the Northern Territory. The Organization Northern Territory Correctional Services (NTCS) is one of only three standalone state government departments for Corrective Services nationally and one undergoing reform, with focus and attention across government, and funding and infrastructure growth. Key Responsibilities As General Manager you will provide strategic direction, leadership and management of the Correctional Centre in line with the NTCS operating philosophy, strategic plan, budget and a culturally sensitive environment. Develop and implement strategies that support and enhance community safety through prisoner education, healthy lifestyle, skills development, programs, employment and other options aimed at reducing reoffending. Lead a team of senior staff in the development and implementation of the Correctional Centre business plan, and establish appropriate relationships with diverse corporate, government and community stakeholders. Ensure a legislatively compliant custodial environment for staff, prisoners and service providers, while delivering systems and practices to record and report on statutory obligations and compliance of operational performance, human resource management and financial activities. Support operational leadership in the consultation of critical infrastructure works associated with the Department''s master infrastructure plan. Qualifications & Experience Proven strategic and operational leadership skills in a multidisciplinary custodial environment, with the ability to develop and manage innovative solutions to complex operational issues. Experience managing significant financial and physical resources, practice innovation and a history of influencing change and reform to deliver continuous improvement and capability building. A peoplefocused leader who seeks active staff and union engagement, whilst driving accountability and performance, and who enhances broad and diverse stakeholder partnerships to provide a secure, safe and culturally appropriate custodial service.
