OverviewSenior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) career opportunity in the Emergency Department at Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). Positions available at Wollongong Hospital, Shellharbour Hospital and Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital. This is a temporary contract position from 2 February 2026 to 6 February 2028, full-time (38 hours per week).ISLHD is an accredited provider of the Workplace Based Assessment (WBA) Program, which provides an alternative pathway for IMGs to AMC Part 2 Clinical Exam. Selection to the WBA Program is merit-based and separate from the workplace recruitment process. A rotational RMO or Emergency Department position is required to apply.Education and vaccination requirements, site preferences and a competitive selection process apply. This is a district position and may involve working at any of the listed sites with interview to determine site preference.ResponsibilitiesProvide emergency medical care to patients under supervision of Emergency Specialists within ISLHD.Participate in a seven-day-per-week roster that includes evening and night shifts.Develop experience in Emergency Medicine prior to entering specialist training.LocationsWollongong HospitalShellharbour HospitalShoalhaven District Memorial HospitalWhat You''ll Be DoingDeliver emergency medical care to patients while developing experience and expertise under supervision. Determine working site preference at interview.
