About the role Logan City Council is seeking a Drinking Water Quality Lead to join our Logan Water Service Performance Stream. This role is responsible for driving the frontline implementation of Logan Waters Drinking Water Quality Management Plan (DWQMP) and ensuring robust systems and frameworks are in place to deliver safe, reliable, and highquality drinking water services to the community. You will lead compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives while providing expert technical advice in chemistry, microbiology, and water quality systems. As the Drinking Water Quality Lead, you will take ownership of Logan Waters drinking water quality outcomes, ensuring regulatory compliance and best practice standards are met. You will lead incident investigations, manage risk improvement plans, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues. Your role will involve driving process improvements, managing audits, and facilitating proactive communication strategies to enhance customer confidence. You will also represent Logan Water in industry forums and provide leadership to a small team, fostering a culture of innovation, safety, and excellence. Key indicators - Drive compliance and continuous improvement of Logan Waters Drinking Water Management Plan (DWQMP) and associated HACCP plans. - Lead incident investigations and contribute to emergency management activities, ensuring preventative actions and lessons learned are implemented. / - Provide expert technical advice on drinking water quality, including chemistry, microbiology, and public health, to support operational and strategic decisionmaking. - Oversee regulatory monitoring and reporting activities, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and timely submission of compliance reports. - Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve complaints and enquiries related to drinking water quality, delivering clear and proactive communication. - Facilitate risk assessments, audits, and improvement plans to strengthen Logan Waters water quality management systems. - Represent Logan Water in external forums and industry events, promoting leadership in drinking water quality and sustainability. - Prepare highquality reports, briefs, and technical papers for senior management and regulatory bodies. - Manage budgets, procurement processes, and performance metrics for drinking water quality programs. - Lead and mentor a small team, fostering a highperformance culture and supporting capability development. Youll possess - Extensive experience in drinking water quality management, including regulatory compliance and risk management. - Previous experience in incident management, including investigations and implementation of preventative measures. - Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and resolve complex issues. - Proven ability to establish and maintain best practice drinking water quality systems and frameworks. - Highlevel analytical and problemsolving skills, including experience with data analysis and trend identification. - Exceptional reportwriting and communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed technical documents and present to diverse audiences. - Demonstrated success in leading teams through change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. - Commercial and financial management skills, including budgeting and procurement oversight. - Proficiency in digital tools and systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting. Requirements - Degree qualifications in Engineering, Science, Environmental Health, Business, or a related discipline. - Possession of a current C class drivers licence. - Flexibility to participate in oncall rostering as required. - Ability to undergo and pass employmentrelated background checks.
