Chief Commercial Officer The Chief Commercial Officer is a part of a management team that has an executive role that drives and oversees the development and commercial strategies of an organisation. Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the CCO will be working closely with internal teams to introduce new business activities whilst creating accountability within the organisation by developing appropriate metrics and coordinating compensation. The CCO will be responsible for seeking new market opportunities, new territories, new service offerings, pricing, budgets, and overall sales objectives. As the commercial officer, you will be accountable for providing contract and commercial support within defined delegations to assist the team in effectively managing new projects and future business activities. Responsibilities Implementing strategic direction into operational departmental practice Provide advice and assistance to relevant program stakeholders on all commercial nature issues Identify the need for professional input, including on legal, financial and insurance matters, and work with commercial management and company specialists to manage the provision of appropriate advice Support customer cost and pricing analysis Provide support on major bids Drive the development and execution of commercialisation strategy and deliver scale-out plans for new products and services based on customer and market need Analyse marketing programs and adjust strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities Prepare contract amendments and change proposals Deliver strategic and operative leadership for the sales growth team in pursuit of the overall business goals whilst being heavily involved in the motivation, drive and development of talent within the organisation About you As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, youll possess the following : Strong strategic and analytical skills Strong stakeholder engagement, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills Well-developed commercial skills and acumen with a proven capability in contract interpretation, negotiation and correspondence administration The ability to manage and prioritise your own activities to meet project schedules Strong leadership skills An outstanding leader who has demonstrated an ability to lead and generate exceptional growth Ability to adapt Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit Capable of navigating high-value deals Extensive understanding of the fundamentals of a customer buying process and handling large accounts, with multiple decision-makers Risk-conscious, without being risk-averse, creative, innovative and resourceful A proactive, solutions focussed and strategic mindset Requirements Education: University degree in Business, Marketing, IT or related discipline Experience in GIS and/or utilities industry Experience Currently, in a senior leadership role with an established career history in product, sales and marketing, a high achiever and will have managed transformational teams in the past with a proven track record of driving profitability in ambiguous environment. Strong commercial background with 15+ years experience in a leadership role Experience in setting sales strategy for regional or global growth Customer focus with the ability to establish and maintain successful client relations Experience of building high-performing commercial teams Great track record of over achievement of growth targets Experienced at change management and communicating / collaborating with peers Demonstrable experience developing client-focused differentiated and achievable solutions Experience of influencing at senior levels across a diverse stakeholder map, ideally with exposure to a regulated industry What we can offer A competitive remuneration package is on offer to attract an outstanding candidate for this role.
