Location and Employment Location: Sunshine Hospital / Harvester Clinic. Employment Type: Ongoing, Part-Time (0.7 FTE). Salary: Fractional Specialist Year 1 to Year 9 (HN16 to HN59) plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging. About the Role We are looking for Consultant Psychiatrists with an interest in the mental health of older adults as an Old Age Psychiatrist, Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist, or an advanced trainee in Psychiatry of Old Age. The positions are ongoing, with a total of 0.7 FTE available, divided across two clinical roles. The role includes working in aged psychiatry inpatient units and specialist community teams. Responsibilities Provide high standards of clinical care and leadership with a focus on multidisciplinary teamwork. Deliver education to medical students and supervise trainees in psychiatry, other agedrelated specialties, and medical officers. Participate in the ECT roster and afterhours senior roster. Collaborate closely with other disciplinary leads, internal and external agencies, stakeholders, and consumer and carer groups. Engage in clinical research in partnership with the Academic Unit for Psychiatry of Old Age. Qualifications Experience at consultant level in aged psychiatry; newly qualified psychiatrists are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise in a comprehensive mental health service. Effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills, and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and consumer and carer groups. Achievement in education and training of medical students, postgraduate students and junior medical staff. Knowledge of current State and Commonwealth policies, mental health legislation, consumer rights, NSQHS and National Safety and Quality Health Service standards. Membership of the Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Certificate of Advanced Training in Psychiatry of Old Age (CertPOA) or a clear pathway to achieve CertPOA in the near future. Interest and willingness to expand interest in Old Age Psychiatry.
